Secret police inquiry into top Labour MP Keith Vaz ‘uncovered £500,000 in mystery payments’

Senior Labour MP Keith Vaz was today referred to the parliamentary watchdog over reports that a secret police investigation uncovered mystery payments of hundreds of thousands of pounds into his bank accounts.
Mr Vaz, a minister in the Labour government, had almost £500,000 deposited in accounts between 1997 and 2001.
